Ah, the Holiday Season…that idyllic time of year when people embrace old traditions and find comfort in the way things have always been.  Into this month of holiday niceties burst two women artists who are on a mission to question tradition and shake things up.  Artists Alicia DeBrincat and Laura McHugh examine female identity without worrying about being “nice” in Bluespace Gallery’s exhibition ART FROM THE NAUGHTY LIST, which opens December 7, 2007.

Alicia DeBrincat's work has been exhibited throughout the United States, including at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California; the Altered Esthetics Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the Esteban Sabar Gallery in Oakland, California.  Laura McHugh recently completed an art residency program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design's Women's Art Intensive, a program to support women in the fine arts.  Her work has shown at SoCo Gallery in Half Moon Bay, California; the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto, California; and East Bay Open Studios in Berkeley, California.
